The Georgian Grizzlies Golf team won a pair of medals at the 2015 PING CCAA Golf National Championship in British Columbia.
The Women earned the program's sixth team medal since 2000. Led by the duo of Cory Pond and Emilie Tyndall, the Grizzlies shot 491 (+59) for the tournament, comfortably earning a spot on the podium. Both Pond (+30) and Tyndall (+34) finished their tournaments in the top ten.
Matt Lemay went into Friday's third and final round two-strokes out of first. Fifteen holes into the day Lemay had shot five-under and turned the deficit into a two-stroke advantage. A couple tough holes late cost him an opportunity at the championship, but he held on to win bronze in a tight race at the top. Lemay shot -7 (209) for the week.
The Men's team came close to earning a third Georgian medal. The Grizzlies three day score of 874 (+10) was just one stroke back of third-place Fraser Valley. Joining Lemay with strong play were ninth-place finisher Aidan Dunphy (E) and Daniel Knapp (+8).
Gold Medals winners included the Camosun Chargers Men's team (-4), the Humber Hawks Women's team (+41), Cegep's Etenne Papineau (-10) and UBC Okanagan's Carolyn Lee (+13).
