MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEP PANTHERS IN INTENSE SHOWDOWN

The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team hosted the Canadore Panthers on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.

It was an intense start to the men's game with both teams going back and forth throughout the set. In the final points it was the Grizzlies who pulled away to take a tight one 25-23.

Georgian used that momentum the rest of the way taking the final two sets 25-11 and 25-18 to defeat Canadore 3-0.

Rookie Kaelan Kloetstra had a monster game for the Grizzlies.

The London native had a team high 15 kills, seven aces and one block for a 23 point game.

Teammate Cameron Calhoun (Stayner) had 11 kills and added an ace in the win.

Georgian is now 2-0 on the season and are one of only three teams in the OCAA east division standings who are undefeated to this point.

The Grizzlies will play their next game on the road when they travel to face the Seneca Sting on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Georgian's next home game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9 when the Grizzlies host the Centennial Colts at the Georgian Athletic Centre.

The women's game gets underway at 6 p.m. with the men's following at 8 p.m. Tickets for the double-header are available at the doors for $5 each or you can watch each Grizzlies home and away game at GeorgianGrizzlies.ca/WatchLive
