The Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby played their home opener of the 2019 OCAA men's rugby season against the visiting Conestoga Condors on Friday night under the lights of J.C. Massie Field in Barrie.

The Grizzlies were impressive right out of the gate and never looked back defeating the Condors 62-0.

Ryan Connolly (Barrie) opened the scoring for the Grizzlies on a try early on.  He would add another later in the game and had six converts for a 22 point game.

Tennyson Brown (Alliston), Marcus Botham (Innisfil) and Braidon Foster (Barrie) had two tries each for Georgian, while Trevor Liley (Pickering) and Duncan Montague (Barrie) also scored a try each to round out the scoring for the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies moved to 2-0 on the season with the victory and they sit in a tie with the Seneca Sting as the only two undefeated teams in the OCAA west division standings.

Georgian will be back in action next Saturday, Sept. 28 when they travel to take on the Mohawk Mountaineers in Hamilton.

The Grizzlies next home game will be on Saturday, Oct. 5 when they host the Sheridan Bruins in the annual Battle of the Bears rivalry game.
