The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team took part in the Mohawk Invitational Tournament this past weekend in Hamilton, ON.
The Grizzlies opened the tournament on Friday night against the host Mountaineers. Georgian had an excellent game defeating the Mountaineers 3-0 with set scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-19.
They then continued with a pair of games on Saturday, first against the St. Clair Saints. The Grizzlies fell 3-0 with set scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 26-24.
Georgian then wrapped up the tournament with a loss to the Redeemer Royals 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 27-25).
The Grizzlies will next be in action as they begin the second half of their OCAA regular season play when they travel to face the Fleming Knights (2-6) on Saturday, Jan. 13 in Peterborough, ON.
Georgian sits atop the OCAA east division standings with a perfect 9-0 record this season. They are currently the number two ranked team in all of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rankings.
The men's volleyball team's next home regular season contest takes place on Friday, Jan. 19 when they host the Seneca Sting (2-6) at 8 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre. Tickets are available at the doors for $5.
