The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team played an exhibition match on Thursday night against the visiting Canadian Mennonite University Blazers at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
This was the second meeting between the two teams this season as they met in the finals of the Seneca Invitational Tournament back in October.
The Blazers hail from Winnipeg and play in the Manitoba College Athletic Conference (MCAC).
It was a tight contest but the Grizzlies continued to show why they are the number two ranked team in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rankings.
Georgian took the match 3-0, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-22.
While played in Barrie the match was part of the Mohawk Invitational Tournament which both teams are competing in this weekend.
Both teams will be back in action tomorrow with the Grizzlies facing the host Mohawk Mountaineers at 9 p.m in Hamilton.
The Grizzlies will then continue the tournament Saturday with a pair of games against the St. Clair Saints and Redeemer Royals.
The men's volleyball team's next home regular season contest takes place on Friday, Jan. 19 when they host the Seneca Sting at 8 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre. Tickets are available at the doors for $5.
