GRIZZLIES TO HOST CMU BLAZERS IN EXHIBITION MATCH

The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team will host a special exhibition game on Thursday, Jan. 4 against the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers at the Georgian Athletic Centre at 6 p.m.

Georgian has been off to another incredible start to the season going undefeated through the first half of their OCAA regular season with a perfect 9-0 record. They are currently the second ranked team in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rankings.

The Blazers who hail from Winnipeg play out of the Manitoba College Athletic Conference (MCAC) and aren't completely an unfamiliar opponent for the Grizzlies.

The two teams met earlier this season in the finals of the Seneca Invitational Tournament back in October. The Grizzlies won a tight match 3-1 (25-21, 25-15, 26-24, 25-23) to win the tournament.

The exhibition match is part of the Mohawk Invitational Tournament which both teams will compete in the rest of that weekend in Hamilton.

The Grizzlies are continuing to build towards the OCAA Men's Volleyball Championships which will be hosted by Georgian College from Feb. 22-24 in Barrie.

Tickets for the game are available at the doors for $5. Students can get a free ticket in advance by visiting the Athletic Centre in the new year.
