LEMAY & ZORDAN COMPETE AT RBC CANADIAN OPEN QUALIFIER

Georgian Grizzlies men's golfers Matt Lemay & Brady Zordan will compete at the RBC Canadian Open Regional Qualifier on Monday in Acton, ON.

The winner of Monday's round will earn a direct entry into the RBC Canadian Open which takes place July 24-20 at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, ON.

Golfers who finish in the top 15% of the field will get another shot to gain entry as they will move on to a final qualifier in July.

Lemay, took part in an U.S. Open local qualifier last week where he finished tied for 24th place. The native of Waterloo, ON won the bronze medal at the PING CCAA Golf National Championships for the second year in a row this past October.

The Golf Management student also led the Grizzlies men's team to a silver medal at the OCAA Championships where he was also named to the OCAA All-Ontario Team.

Zordan will tee off at 9:31 a.m. while Lemay is scheduled to start his round at 1:31 p.m.

Also competing at the event are former Grizzlies James Skrypec and Mike Gonko.

The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's golf teams will return to action later this month as they will compete at 2017 Canadian University/College Championship from May 29th to June 1st at the Tangle Creek Golf Club in Barrie, ON.

Conducted by Golf Canada, the tournament will be hosted by Georgian College and serves as the qualifier for the World University Golf Championship.
